Telekurs FinXL 1.1 launched at Zurich City

Almost 100 financial professionals representing large global banks, cantonal banks and consultants attended SIX Telekurs' first iDealunch this year, held April 14 in the SIX Swiss Exchange building.

The event featured a presentation by theScreener CEO Andreas Lusser, a SIX Telekurs partner, covering his risk and investment rating services. The risk rating involves an assessment based on historical performance and media reports covering an asset. The investment rating grades the upside of a stock on a scale between 1 and 4 based on fundamental data, technical criteria and forecasting.

The audience was keen to learn about theScreener’s plans to expand the asset classes covered by its ratings service. Currently, the company covers 5000 of some of the most commonly traded global stocks and Lusser spoke about plans to extend into the funds space. Clients should have access to funds rating data later this year.

After welcome drinks with hors d’oeuvres in the bar area, guests filed into the main lecture room. SIX Telekurs’ Phillip Villoz gave a live demo of FinXL, a financial data visualization and analytics tool fully integrated within Microsoft Excel. FinXL enables users to access the entire SIX Telekurs database of nearly 7 million instruments and 850 exchanges.

Phillip presented the new "GetHisto" function which retrieves historical data over a specified time span. Users can populate their Excel spreadsheets with more than 200 market data fields corresponding to their instrument selection. He also showed the "GetQuote" function in FinXL, the only solution on the market to display live data in Excel.
